QO Load Centers offer premium features by allowing the installation of QO breakers, ground arc fault interrupters, and surge arresters inside. These load centers enable the use of a full range of accessories and can be configured as single or three-phase systems, with both indoor and outdoor versions available.
The indoor enclosures are specially designed to rotate 180 degrees, allowing for top or bottom service entrance feed and reducing the need for expensive service cable. The Surgebreaker is a secondary surge arrestor specifically built for QO load centers, providing protection for electrical service and major household appliances (excluding electronic devices). It is compatible with 3-wire 120/240 VAC single-phase systems and has a NEMA 1 indoor rating.
With a surge capacity of 5 kA and a SCCR of 22.5 kA, this secondary surge protector is CSA certified and UL listed. It features plug-on installation, requiring two pole positions, and includes an LED indicator to show operational status.
The QO Surgebreaker offers equal protection to circuits and receptacles throughout the home and is only compatible with Square D QO load centers. It is designed for easy installation and meets UL 1449 3rd Edition standards.
